This is a story spine which I have came up this week to introduce my short story, titled: The Hidden Mark and the characters in the story which I am going to design for the next few weeks.

Story spine:

Once upon a time, there lives an ugly elf girl, Carrioussa in Mythoria, a land of mythical creatures.

Every day, she would get bullied by her peers in elf school because of how she looks ugly with dark marks on her face. Carrioussa would wonder why she was born with such features when her parents are both decent-looking elves, hence, she questions her parents about the marks on her face. However, her parents just avoid the question and tell her that she will know it one day. This makes Carrioussa determined to find out more about herself.

Until one day, Carrioussa meets a mysterious dragon-man named Hildo, who tells her that he knows her true father, who is the dragon king. Carrioussa is shocked and do not believe Hildo as she thinks that an ugly elf like her could not have been the dragon princess. Because of this, Hildo tells her to go along with him to find the magical Axinite gemstone hidden in the south cave of Mythoria which can reveal her true identity.

Because of this, Carrioussa, who wants to know the truth and having learnt about the well-known Axinite beforehand, agrees to go on a journey with Hildo to search for the magical Axinite.

On their journey to the south cave, they face many obstacles like risking their lives to fight against wild mythical creatures and harsh thunderstorms. Because of this, Carrioussa almost dies while fighting against the notorious monster of the south cave, an oversized bear-like creature.

Until finally, because of Carrioussa risking her own life to seek the truth from the Axinite, the magical Axinite appears right in front of her and Carrioussa and Hildo are glad that they manage to find it.

The Axinite casts a spell, allowing Carrioussa to see the hidden truth about her from a magic cloud.

It is revealed that Carriousssa was captured by a group of evil mythical creatures when she was a baby as she was the dragon king’s daughter and was claimed by the evil forces that she possesses a very powerful force in her that could be of great help to the evil forces. Soon, Carrioussa’s birth parents found out about their daughter being captured and managed to kill the evil culprits before they could harm Carrioussa. Worried that in the future, another group of evil mythical creatures might capture her for their own desires again, Carrioussa’s parents used the magic wand from the high fairy to turn Carrioussa into an ugly elf with dark marks on her face to conceal the dragon marks of the dragon princess and sent her to a childless elf couple, far away from the land of the dragon breeds, to take care of her, so as to prevent the evil forces from recognizing her and capturing her again. The messenger dragon, who is actually Hildo, was sent by the dragon king to watch over Carrioussa every day to make sure she is safe. While watching Carrioussa, Hildo was sad to see that she is depressed from being bullied by her peers for looking ugly and could not stand to watch her suffer anymore. He thought to himself that she should be able to protect herself when she finds out about her true identity since she has grown up, hence, he told Carrioussa about the Axinite gemstone of truth, which is the only element which people could trust and could return Carrioussa her true self. It is also revealed that Carrioussa’s birth name is Eoria.

After Carrioussa accepts the truth about herself, the magical Axinite gemstone casted another spell on her, returning her true appearance and possession, which are her orange hair and a beautiful dress, her dragon mark on her face and the sacred dragon sword meant for the dragon princess.

Ever since then, Eoria gains respect from people all over the Mythoria. She also learns that believing the great truth about one’s self is the key to becoming the best version of oneself.
