Face designs: The Dragon King and Queen

This week, I have came out with different designs of faces for the dragon king and queen! I have decided not to colour them yet as I personally think that I should finalise the design first before thinking about the colour scheme. I tried to picture different faces of a wise man in the middle to old age group for the dragon king and went online to search for references of wise, older men in order to come out with face designs for the dragon king. I do not always see men with long mustaches, hence, researching for references online really helped expand my visual library. I always felt like drawing faces of older women and men is a challenge as I do not often draw older women and men, however, through this experience, I had a chance to explore more on character designs for people in the middle to old age group, which I am really grateful for. As for the dragon queen, I wanted her to have a youthful look despite her being in the middle age group, since she has a cheerful personality.
